Smalls Sunday: Smalls vs. the Watermelon

I was looking for a good picture of Ben and Smalls to put on my new desk this morning when I came across this picture. I can’t believe I never blogged about it before now.

We bought a watermelon for Tim’s graduation party, and when we brought it home, Smalls was none too happy to see that strange thing in her house. The second she caught sight of it, sitting menacingly up there on the kitchen table, she started growling.  She stood there, growling at it, took a step or two toward it, and never took her eyes off it for several minutes — just long enough for me to snap a picture. And then she apparently was satisfied that she had told the watermelon what was what, and she carried on with her day, never giving the watermelon a second glance the rest of the time it was in our house.

    Smalls is super serious about protecting her house from watermelon. Ben was on bucket duty, so someone had to be there. : )
