Thankful Thursday

When I asked for ideas to get me through this month of every-day blogging, Stephanie chimed in with, “What about for NaBloPoMo, since it is during Thanksgiving, you post about what you are thankful for. Maybe Thankful Thursdays?”

When I was scanning my list of ideas from y’all today, trying to decide what to write about, I realized that today is Thursday.

And so it was decided that today would not only be Thursday, but it would be Thankful Thursday.

Here, in no particular order, are some things for which I am currently thankful:

• My parents, relatives, in-laws, and all the rest of my family.
• My husband, and all of the wonderful things he does for me, including but not limited to: making lasagna; middle-of-the-night snuggling after I’ve woken up from a nightmare about zombies trying to eat me and am too scared to go back to sleep and return to the same dream; staying up late helping me solve the most mind-boggling problems caused by upgrading my Zune software (aren’t upgrades supposed to improve the technology? and not just f–k everything up?) even though we both have to get up early the next day; and thinking I’m at my most beautiful first thing in the morning, bed head, grumpy face, morning breath, and all.
• Little Mister Benjamin and all of the puppy snuggles and kisses he gives out so freely.
• My friends, especially those in New York, Richmond, Madison, Boston, and Ft. Collins.
• $4 jeans.
• All of you lovely people inside the computer who keep me laughing all day long.
• A big project at work, into which I have invested a lot of time, ideas, and energy over the past eight months, and which is finally coming to fruition this afternoon. There is a lot of work still to do, and it’s not the type of project that will ever really be finished, but the milestone it’s reaching this afternoon is a huge one, and it will be very rewarding to finally see the project reach that milestone and start serving its intended purpose.
• Sour cream chicken enchiladas.
• RA, who gave me the nudge I needed this morning to get my butt over to her blog (I’m so far behind on my blog reading right now, y’all!) and sign up for Secret Blogger Santa before it was too late. (You guys should sign up too! Tomorrow is the deadline — there’s still time!)
• Y’all, for understanding how hard it is to keep up with blog reading this month and not getting mad when I don’t visit your blog or leave you a comment for days at a time.
• Google Reader, for deciding to tell me exactly how many blogs I have yet to read instead of that frustratingly mysterious “100+” that used to be there. I feel much better knowing exactly how far behind I am. It’s all about having concrete goals to work toward, and that damn “100+” was not helping matters.
• Chicago Manual of Style online.
• Wine, of which I will be drinking large quantities next week.
