Let’s All Play a Game!
(Well, all except Kat, from whom I totally stole this idea, and who also already knows the right answer and is thus excluded from game participation.)
Gather ’round, y’all, it’s time for a thrilling game of Two Truths and a Lie!
Listed below are three statements about myself, two of which are true and one of which is … you guessed it … a lie. Your job is to see if you can figure out which of the 3 statements is the lie.
Let’s lay out a few ground rules, whaddaya say?
You’re welcome to scour my blog archives for hints, but I’m pretty sure that won’t be very helpful as I don’t remember ever specifically addressing any of these things on this blog in the past.
You’re also welcome to ask people (besides Kat) who know me for clues, but that, too, is unlikely to be helpful as I’m not sure even Tim will be able to guess correctly right away. Hell, even Kat, who grew up with me and therefore supposedly* knows me fairly well, was unable to guess the right answer. Which leads me to believe that I have come up with a sufficiently tricky set of statements.
Finally, what’s a game without prizes, right? First person to comment with the correct answer gets a gold star. For real, y’all. I will make a gold star and send it to you. Gary can vouch for the awesomeness that is the Sangria Lover Gold Star Blog Award. Just ask him. Everyone else who guesses correctly gets a super great “Way to go, you kick ass!” shout-out, so don’t hold back from guessing even if you think someone’s already won the gold star.
Now that we’re all clear on the rules and the strategies and the prizes, shall we get on with the game?
Oh, wait. One more thing. For extra fun times, y’all should also come up with your own two truths and a lie and leave them either in the comments or follow Anna’s example and post them on your own blog.
So if y’all are done dragging all this rule nonsense out, let’s play this game already.
Here, for your guessing pleasure, are Two Truths and a Lie about me:
1. When I was a kid I thought “living the dream” would consist of teaching in the fall and spring and working summers at Sea World.
2. The only time I have ever come close to fainting was on my wedding day.
3. Much as I complain about the cold, I secretly really like winter.
Happy guessing! I’ll post the results and correct answer tomorrow afternoon, so be sure get your guesses in early!
*Every time I write or say that word, I can’t help but think: Did they go to the zoo? Supposably…

I love this game! For some reason I am always able to fool people. Must be the same innocent face that never gets stopped by airport security.
I am going to guess #2.
I love this game, but I am usually really bad at it. I am also going to guess that #2 is the lie.
Here are a few for me:
1) I was a cheerleader in high school, a flier.
2) I love roller coasters and I try to ride at least 3 times in a row before switching to another.
3) If not for the bad breath, I would eat dill pickles all day long.
I think #1 is the lie.
For RA, I’m guessing #2 is the lie. I think I remember nodding my head once when she said she hates roller coasters… but I could be making that up.
Someone should totally guess number three just so they have a slim possibility of getting the 2nd COOLEST MOST BEAUTIFUL prize in the history of SangriaLover.com (the first coolest being mine of course, which is the reason I am not guessing, cause I can’t take all the goodness in the world).
Okay, my three things:
1. My leg has teeth
2. My palates instructor told me that while I am not the best in the class, I am the most dedicated, and it made my day.
3. I am jealous that my twin brother is constantly referred to as the “cute” one.
I say #3 is the lie. Definitely not #1, because working at Sea World TOTALLY is living the dream.
I love games! And prizes!
I think #2 is the lie. Now, do I get a prize???
I FEEL SO LEFT OUT I AM GOING TO GO CRY AND CUT MYSELF.
: )
i know the answer, i know the answer….
also, gary doesn’t have a twin brother! isn’t his brother older? I THINK SO.
#3 – You take after me – you don’t like winter.
Re: Kat’s guess
While my brother was born 3.5 years before me, we are technically twins. My poor mother was in labor that whole time. Casey was born way premature and I was way delayed.
Let us take a critical look at our choices. We can rule out number two right off the bat because poor little miss sangrialover only had a few crackers before she stood in the sun to marry me and did indeed come close to passing out. So now we are down to a toss-up between Sea world and winter. The only clue I can think of to support the validity of statement one is a picture of Audrey and her Brother at Sea world in which they both look rather happy. Choice three on the other hand I have a slew of evidence supporting the fact that Audrey does indeed dislike winter. The only possible way number three could be true is if she uses some crazy circular logic in which she is comparing winter to being tortured on the rack in medieval time (the actual time period not the restaurant). So I say that number three is the falsehood. Better luck next time wife, check and mate.
I’m gonna go with #2.
I am so with you on the supposedly thing. Most times I will actually say the go to the zoo spheal out loud and then laugh at myself. YESI’MAWESOME!
