Summer Time, and the Living Is Easy
Yesterday we got to go visit my brother and his wife in their new apartment. Because I’m having trouble finding the right words to describe the day, here are some photo highlights of our enjoyment for your enjoyment:
We toasted Chris and Meg’s arrival with wine.
The wine helped us quite a bit in the assembly of bookshelves.
Our bookshelf assembly efforts were rewarded with a dip in the pool, where we broke a number of rules including “No Roughhousing.” (Luckily there was no rule against farmer’s tans, or Tim would have broken that one as well.) The hour we spent in the pool with Tim dunking me over and over and over (while I tried unsuccessfully to retaliate) was probably the most fun-filled hour of the summer to date.
Here, my brother and I break the “no alcohol” rule and don’t even try to hide it.
This one time, Tim accidentally threw his shoe on the roof
But he managed to get it down before the pool police wrote us a ticket for breaking the “No Shoes on the Roof” rule.
Later, we spent the majority of our drive home behind Dave the Horn Guy. Awesome.
It was a really, really wonderful day. We got to see Chris and Meg and their adorable new apartment, play in the pool, and have a local celebrity sighting, all in one day! It doesn’t get much better than that, folks!
As I drifted off to sleep next to the love of my life last night, I reflected on the events of the day and the direction my life is taking. I fell asleep feeling nothing but pure happiness.
Life is good.

that pool seems vaguely familiar.
good thing tim didn’t get a shoe ticket!
One time, I put together an entire desk after Happy Hour. It came out really well, but my roommates were kind of worried about me when I broke out the power tools!
I love that Tim’s shoe ended up on the roof. It rocks my world! Sounds like a great weekend. ; )
Sounds like a fun day! Welcome to your bro & sis in law.
Maybe Tim should take up the career of ‘poolboy’? How does that sound?
Glad that your brother and his girl made it to town okay and I’m glad they are getting settled in nicely. Looks like you guys had a blast!
Thanks for sharing pictures! It sounds and looks like you guys had a blast! I’m so jealous of the pool. I haven’t been swimming in awhile and I miss floating around on a hot day. You guys are all too cute!
OMG! I’m balding in the front TOO!
“This one time, Tim accidentally threw his shoe on the roof” made me almost spit out my coffee. Too funny. Looks like it was a great day!
